Today I want to take you on a virtual tour around some of the most beautiful Italian lakes, an ideal destination for those travelers who prefer exclusivity to mass tourism.

1. LAKE ORTA
Let's start this tour from the one that is considered the most romantic Italian lake, Lake Orta, an authentic jewel nestled between the sweet hills of Piedmont and the Alps. Romantic landscapes, small charming villages, typical restaurants with amazing views of the lake, high-end accommodations, and lots of outdoor activities.
2. LAKE MAGGIORE
Not far from Lake Orta we can find Lake Maggiore, another jewel nestled among Piedmont, Lombardy, and Switzerland. 5. LAKE SCANNO
The heart of Italy beats in Abruzzo! That's what you will think of when you will reach the point in which you can admire Lake Scanno from above. In the wilderness of undiscovered Abruzzo, in central Italy, you will find a real "rural paradise" as defined by CNN, where you can taste delicious cheese and learn more about the ancient tradition of Transhumance, recently enlisted among the UNESCO Intangible Heritage.
